Hello All!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alicia here, back again with another installment of the Flamingo Four Challenge! Here is what we had to start with:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WS5LvEjS9F8/UhF-WC3IehI/AAAAAAAAC6o/SZ2Z6p8NApE/s1600/IMG_3027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WS5LvEjS9F8/UhF-WC3IehI/AAAAAAAAC6o/SZ2Z6p8NApE/s320/IMG_3027.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is what I came up with using the supplies! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5qsHyoVu2nY/UhF-WJxGPVI/AAAAAAAAC6g/TH6Y6sute7w/s1600/1-IMG_3984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="290" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5qsHyoVu2nY/UhF-WJxGPVI/AAAAAAAAC6g/TH6Y6sute7w/s320/1-IMG_3984.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The chess pieces really presented a challenge for me this month! I started out by coating the entire inside of the box with Staz-On ink in Teal Blue and let it dry. Then I decided to put a rub-on accent across the bottom of the lid of the box and around the sides. I knew I wanted to adhere the Maya Road flower to the lid of the box, but I needed to figure out what to do with the chess pieces. After a week or so, I decided to use them as "stamps" to stamp the circle images in Gesso on to the box and then after they dried, I colored them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Sweet Cherry. <br />
Here is a look at the back side of the box.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9Jlsg9Sowo/UhF-V8FfGYI/AAAAAAAAC6c/JPgYkGNnqno/s1600/2-IMG_3987.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="194" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9Jlsg9Sowo/UhF-V8FfGYI/AAAAAAAAC6c/JPgYkGNnqno/s320/2-IMG_3987.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Now I have a little box to house some of my sequins when I travel to crops! To see what the other ladies came up with, go over and check out the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">blog at Flamingo Scraps</a>!<br />

I am back today with another week of Project Life, this time I used the "Beautiful Life" collection from Echo Park. This is such a great collection of papers that work so well for so many occasions and I love that it comes with three different alphas!<br />
<br />
Here is a look at the two-pages together:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M2et7e-xSZ0/Uf69oT7sYUI/AAAAAAAAC5s/p2Rdq6K8bE0/s1600/1-IMG_0655-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="321" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M2et7e-xSZ0/Uf69oT7sYUI/AAAAAAAAC5s/p2Rdq6K8bE0/s640/1-IMG_0655-001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Here is the left side. Moving I used one of the Heidi Swapp labels to tell where the boys were in the top picture. The title card, except for the "polaroid" around the week number, is completely made from bits that come in the "Beautiful Life" collection. The polaroid was stamped from the Maya Road "Photo Frame Singleton" stamp set. The first card in the middle road is made from the "B" side of one of the 3x4 card sheet in the collection and one of the Heidi Swapp Tags. I attached the tag to the card with a piece of yellow seam binding to create a great place for some hidden journaling. Cutting the picture of the strawberries in half allows me to use the smaller pockets to hold another 4x6 picture. The alpha on both the strawberry picture and the boys picking strawberries are the two smaller alphas included in the collection. The "captured" sentiment on the picture of the boys repairing Sam's car comes from the Maya Road "Snapshot Words" stamp set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kHsqqZ1HmVM/Uf69odR6QhI/AAAAAAAAC5w/dwH1fFf5-SM/s1600/2-IMG_0656-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kHsqqZ1HmVM/Uf69odR6QhI/AAAAAAAAC5w/dwH1fFf5-SM/s400/2-IMG_0656-001.JPG" width="390" /></a></div>
This is the right side of the spread. All of the cards on the top row are from the card sheet in the collection. I covered the seam between the picture of the flowerpot my son made for me for Mother's Day with some more of the yellow seam binding, then colored some of the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Banners and Stars for accents. On the second row, I used some more of the Studio Calico Veneers to point to the pictures the journaling on the first card applies to. The mother's day card is another one of the 3x4 cards with some Heidi Swapp letters. The "ticket" on the family picture is also from the accent sheet that comes with the collection.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZdnn6s9hUE/Uf69oZJjs5I/AAAAAAAAC50/K-kxPfxBiN0/s1600/3-IMG_0657-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZdnn6s9hUE/Uf69oZJjs5I/AAAAAAAAC50/K-kxPfxBiN0/s400/3-IMG_0657-001.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

I am back today with four different tags for our Christmas in July fun!<br />
Up first, is a fun tag that I made using the patterned paper from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/christmas-in-july-kit-traditional/" target="_blank">Traditional Red and Green kit</a>, a piece of transparency and a couple of punches. I started out by cutting the patterned paper and transparency into a tag shape. Next, I punched out 15 green triangles and one gold star from some gold vellum that I had in my scrap pile, and glued them into a tree shape onto the transparency tag. I cut a "trunk" for my tree from a scrap of textured brown card stock, and then added a few rhinestones that I cut apart from a Prima embellishment to act as ornaments for my tree. To finish this tagg, i just layered the transparency on top of the patterned paper and secured them together with a bit of flashy ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yMB2onC4nlM/Ud2ncBJ8JaI/AAAAAAAAC4A/D1ws2e8bbCA/s1600/1-IMG_0571.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yMB2onC4nlM/Ud2ncBJ8JaI/AAAAAAAAC4A/D1ws2e8bbCA/s400/1-IMG_0571.JPG" width="266" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZm0wPmTGRg/Ud2nb1-Vz7I/AAAAAAAAC4U/Ny0WqJmp1RQ/s1600/2-IMG_0572.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZm0wPmTGRg/Ud2nb1-Vz7I/AAAAAAAAC4U/Ny0WqJmp1RQ/s400/2-IMG_0572.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
Next up, I cut a base of solid colored cardstock and rounded the corners. Then I stamped a lacy design and heat embossed with holographic embossing powder to give the background a little more interest.I added this great Santa cardstock sticker mounted on red cardstock and adhered it with Pop Dots.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BkktF5eHHW0/Ud2nccxPfZI/AAAAAAAAC4M/-8-wbarJAs4/s1600/4-IMG_0573.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BkktF5eHHW0/Ud2nccxPfZI/AAAAAAAAC4M/-8-wbarJAs4/s400/4-IMG_0573.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
For this tag/card, I decided to make it more card-like, but instead of folding it in half, I folded it a little off of half and placed a strip of the green dot paper where it could be seen when the card was closed. I thought this gave it a little more interest. The sentiment on the front is a great chipboard element that comes in the pack in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/christmas-in-july-kit-traditional/" target="_blank">kit</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h7ncGp6k7KY/Ud2nceTXaQI/AAAAAAAAC4Q/Ie72T3gNl_A/s1600/5-IMG_0576.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h7ncGp6k7KY/Ud2nceTXaQI/AAAAAAAAC4Q/Ie72T3gNl_A/s320/5-IMG_0576.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xDgcSuHGKLk/Ud2nc-RGuaI/AAAAAAAAC4k/Yhm98aLNHpY/s1600/6-IMG_0577.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xDgcSuHGKLk/Ud2nc-RGuaI/AAAAAAAAC4k/Yhm98aLNHpY/s320/6-IMG_0577.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Lastly, I made this quick tag using some basic red cardstock, another piece of the scrap gold vellum, my Martha Stewart Stars Anywhere punch, and some more of those adorable cardstock stickers that come in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/christmas-in-july-kit-traditional/" target="_blank">kit</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qceaUyCdq7U/Ud2ncE0frOI/AAAAAAAAC38/Fdu9mq87OQk/s1600/3-IMG_0567.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qceaUyCdq7U/Ud2ncE0frOI/AAAAAAAAC38/Fdu9mq87OQk/s400/3-IMG_0567.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
I hope these have inspired you a bit to make a few tags for those special gifts for the upcoming holiday season!! Also, if you are interested in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/melissa-frances-frog-paper-holder-antique-2/" target="_blank">Melissa Francis Floral Frog</a> that I have used to hold the tags up for pictures, Suzanne has those available as well in the store!<br />

Suzanne, over at Flamingo Scraps has put together some great "Christmas in July" kits, so you can get a head start on your holiday crafts! Using some of the supplies, I have created these great paper ornaments! I saw these in a magazine a while ago, and loved them! They are very easy to make, with minimal supplies, but they do take a little time to put together, primarily because of the drying time for the glue I used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BWTkVmKlD2I/UcTQmQsZbTI/AAAAAAAAC2Y/Ywvc0bn_YB0/s1600/7-IMG_0500.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BWTkVmKlD2I/UcTQmQsZbTI/AAAAAAAAC2Y/Ywvc0bn_YB0/s400/7-IMG_0500.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
To make all three of the stars above, I only used three pieces of 12x12 cardstock/patterned paper! The first step to making these beauties is to cut your paper into squares. Each of these require eight squares of paper to create. For the large one, I used two pieces of patterned paper from Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks line and cut them into 6x6 squares. The two smaller ones were made from one piece of 12x12 white cardstock that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Sweet Cherry on one side and Chartreuse on the other and then cut into 3x3 squares<br />
Here are the four patterns featured on the pieces of City Sidewalk paper in the big star. .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--4nUdh0oqxY/UcTRgQs_hiI/AAAAAAAAC20/or8kb_cuvto/s1600/1-IMG_0472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="392" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--4nUdh0oqxY/UcTRgQs_hiI/AAAAAAAAC20/or8kb_cuvto/s400/1-IMG_0472.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Start off by folding your square into a triangle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S8P4-_8OEgQ/UcTRgME8PuI/AAAAAAAAC2w/iMvpF_aNZH0/s1600/2-IMG_0474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S8P4-_8OEgQ/UcTRgME8PuI/AAAAAAAAC2w/iMvpF_aNZH0/s400/2-IMG_0474.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then fold it again into a smaller triangle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IZ_q9NpZcis/UcTRgGze0dI/AAAAAAAAC2s/k6CKCCnEY_Q/s1600/3-IMG_0476.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IZ_q9NpZcis/UcTRgGze0dI/AAAAAAAAC2s/k6CKCCnEY_Q/s400/3-IMG_0476.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then, on the open side of your smaller triangle, make three parallel cuts through both layers, leaving about a quarter of an inch at the end (please excuse my chipped nail polish.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UfpGuN0C-_k/UcTRggFFMbI/AAAAAAAAC24/92biBxnmQhU/s1600/4-IMG_0478.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UfpGuN0C-_k/UcTRggFFMbI/AAAAAAAAC24/92biBxnmQhU/s400/4-IMG_0478.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
When you open up the triangles back to a square, it will look like this. Take the inner most part, and fold the peaks to meet and glue into a tube.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uVw_YWmZZtA/UcTRguTgjUI/AAAAAAAAC3I/rYXSK4FwH2g/s1600/5-IMG_0480.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uVw_YWmZZtA/UcTRguTgjUI/AAAAAAAAC3I/rYXSK4FwH2g/s400/5-IMG_0480.JPG" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
Next, take the next set of peaks and fold those the opposite direction as the inner-most set and glue those sets together. Keep alternating directions until you have them all glued together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou2hEcYtarM/UcTRg9236UI/AAAAAAAAC3Q/tcFI_k5huXY/s1600/7-IMG_0482.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ou2hEcYtarM/UcTRg9236UI/AAAAAAAAC3Q/tcFI_k5huXY/s400/7-IMG_0482.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here are two of them finished in each of the patterned papers. Once everything is dry, it is time to glue them together. Glue each of the small sides to the large side of another (see picture below). Continue doing this until you have eight of them forming a wreath. I held mine together at the glue points with clothes pins overnight while they dried.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wSUMXl6SlZ0/UcTRhKeoj7I/AAAAAAAAC3k/0QmMX4Jtwyw/s1600/8-IMG_0483.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wSUMXl6SlZ0/UcTRhKeoj7I/AAAAAAAAC3k/0QmMX4Jtwyw/s400/8-IMG_0483.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Once things dry really well, I took a needle and some thread to the inner points and tied them together to ensure they they will hold the shape that I want them to have.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PCT-79YefA8/UcTQmNPNAAI/AAAAAAAAC2M/l8DotajoMps/s1600/5-IMG_0497.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="381" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PCT-79YefA8/UcTQmNPNAAI/AAAAAAAAC2M/l8DotajoMps/s400/5-IMG_0497.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is one of the finished small ones, which measures about<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4kS12KfFoB8/UcTQmDkuziI/AAAAAAAAC2E/6io5uD4afQM/s1600/4-IMG_0496.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="362" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4kS12KfFoB8/UcTQmDkuziI/AAAAAAAAC2E/6io5uD4afQM/s400/4-IMG_0496.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
And here is the big one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZYc9ck6Pyhk/UcTQmOj8w6I/AAAAAAAAC2I/URSNrAtAIx4/s1600/6-IMG_0498.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="395" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZYc9ck6Pyhk/UcTQmOj8w6I/AAAAAAAAC2I/URSNrAtAIx4/s400/6-IMG_0498.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
These are so pretty in person! They take a little time to make, but are very simple and make a great impression! My husband was amazed by them and the fact they were just made from a couple of pieces of paper!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iztHexGnTYY/Ub9Znve4VAI/AAAAAAAAC1I/W4GFdV-RDtI/s1600/June+F4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iztHexGnTYY/Ub9Znve4VAI/AAAAAAAAC1I/W4GFdV-RDtI/s400/June+F4.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided to create a frame with a bit of a "textured" look to it. I painted the frame with a base coat of yellow paint, and let it dry. Then I used the snowflake mask across the face of the frame and applied the pink paint to it. After that layer dried, it was a bit too bright for me, so I watered down some apricot colored paint and did a light coat across the whole thing, then follwed that up with a watered down whitewash coat as well. Once I had it toned down, I decided to cut the stick off of the paper flower and adhered the "Life is in Bloom" saying to the front. I adhered that to the frame and tucked the "Beautiful" metal embellishment behind the flower to create a little cluster in the bottom corner. Now, all I need to do is find the right picture to put in it!<br />
<br />

It's Alicia, here again with another layout using Heidi Swapp's Serendipity line. :) Sometimes, inspiration comes from the strangest places. While flipping through a magazine, last fall, this ad really something that caught my eye, so I kept it in a binder so I could refer back to it when the time was right.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2OAlvAGeFOs/UcTKTja_oWI/AAAAAAAAC10/EjfCYN_9UEs/s1600/8-IMG_0492-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2OAlvAGeFOs/UcTKTja_oWI/AAAAAAAAC10/EjfCYN_9UEs/s400/8-IMG_0492-001.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2OAlvAGeFOs/UcTKTja_oWI/AAAAAAAAC10/EjfCYN_9UEs/s1600/8-IMG_0492-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><br /></a>
<br />
Initially, I thought that it would be the ombre effect of the blue pellets that would be my jumping off point, but when I saw the "sun rays" in the yellow Heidi Swapp Serendipity paper, it brought this ad to mind,and I had to dig it out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WU1xji1j-8s/UcTKTZ3v-sI/AAAAAAAAC1g/WOH9YzBpkpA/s1600/2-IMG_0493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WU1xji1j-8s/UcTKTZ3v-sI/AAAAAAAAC1g/WOH9YzBpkpA/s320/2-IMG_0493.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I traced the lines of the "rays" with a yellow marker to define them a little better, without making them standout too much. In place of the product in the ad, I flipped the design and placed my picture on the right side, instead of the left. The letters that I dug out of my stash for the main part of my title play on the ombre effect, like the pellets in the ad.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0Tnsni2MxiU/UcTKTHaNevI/AAAAAAAAC1c/_Jt5tLqlYZE/s1600/1-IMG_0494.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="186" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0Tnsni2MxiU/UcTKTHaNevI/AAAAAAAAC1c/_Jt5tLqlYZE/s320/1-IMG_0494.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Here is the side-by-side comparison... not an exact replica, but you can definitely see the inspiration that was sparked by the ad. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am back with another Project Life spread. This time it is for Week 13 of 2013, which was the week leading up to, and including Easter! For this spread, I used the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Serendipity line of papers from Heidi Swapp</a> to set the color scheme for the week. <br />
Here are the shots of both sides together, including an insert - it is a cute bunny that the boy brought home from school!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_CxW-njRt0M/UbUEJZYhCfI/AAAAAAAACyo/6-xXj0fwcg0/s1600/1-IMG_0447.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_CxW-njRt0M/UbUEJZYhCfI/AAAAAAAACyo/6-xXj0fwcg0/s400/1-IMG_0447.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z49HUZ-EGB0/UbUEJRYeojI/AAAAAAAACyw/6190iWSwgfA/s1600/2-IMG_0448.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="195" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Z49HUZ-EGB0/UbUEJRYeojI/AAAAAAAACyw/6190iWSwgfA/s400/2-IMG_0448.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I just love how the colors of this <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Serendipity line</a> go so well with so many spring activities. The pink banner on the close up of the Easter basket is from a scrap of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-pop-banner-delights/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Pop banners</a> that I had left over from another project. The heart on the picture of my husband and son is one of the Pink Paislee Portfolio Ephemera.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WS4n6aOAKnc/UbUEJXqJj_I/AAAAAAAACys/exDS8tdmmww/s1600/3-IMG_0449.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WS4n6aOAKnc/UbUEJXqJj_I/AAAAAAAACys/exDS8tdmmww/s400/3-IMG_0449.JPG" width="391" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The "fun" on the top left picture is from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-portfolio-kit/" target="_blank">Pink Paislee Artisan Words</a>, and it is colored with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Color Shine in Tropicana Teal</a> . I used one of the Heidi Swapp Color Magic notes as the base for the title "Dyeing Eggs" and used her <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Color Shine Sprays</a> to give it an ombre look. The little envelope on the second row is by <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/websters-pages-trim-sampler-butter/" target="_blank">Webster's Pages</a>, and there are more of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-portfolio-kit/" target="_blank">Pink Paislee Portfolio Ephermera</a> on the bottom two pictures and the pink polka dot heart is cut from another section of the leftover<a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-pop-banner-delights/" target="_blank"> Color Pop banner</a>! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4vvxQCUCM9A/UbUEJ0NpSmI/AAAAAAAACzE/Jfh2pEq7w-U/s1600/5-IMG_0451.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4vvxQCUCM9A/UbUEJ0NpSmI/AAAAAAAACzE/Jfh2pEq7w-U/s400/5-IMG_0451.JPG" width="392" /></a></div>
<br />
Just because I love it's character, here is a close up of the boy's bunny that I adhered to some of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp paper</a> to help it stay in the page protector.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G0z19xM9vq4/UbUEJifvQcI/AAAAAAAACzI/5IEj8ullmgU/s1600/4-IMG_0450.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G0z19xM9vq4/UbUEJifvQcI/AAAAAAAACzI/5IEj8ullmgU/s400/4-IMG_0450.JPG" width="313" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Suzanne has a great sale going on the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-portfolio-kit/" target="_blank">Pink Paislee Portfolio kits</a>! I love this line and keep coming back to it time after time. I have included links to all of the great products I used to get this look and they are all available in the store at <a href="http://www.flamingoscraps.com/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps</a>!</div>

Alicia here, and I am back with a quick frame idea. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dl3a-vLMuQ0/UaLEKtuO2EI/AAAAAAAACu0/qFHakIDf358/s1600/1-IMG_0440.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="316" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dl3a-vLMuQ0/UaLEKtuO2EI/AAAAAAAACu0/qFHakIDf358/s320/1-IMG_0440.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
First, I coated the whole frame with a coat of pink paint, then let it dry. I then cut this great polka dot paper from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Serendipity line</a> to size, inked all of the edges with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/preorder-prima-chalk-ink-edgers-set-of-48-colors/" target="_blank">Prima Chalk ink in Attic Dust</a>, and adhered it to the wooden frame using a little Modge Podge and a foam brush. I made sure to give it a good coating and let it dry. <br />
I used my circle punch to create the different layers of the flower and inked those edges with Attic Dust as well and then distressed the edges and layered them, finishing the flower off with a rhinestone in the middle. For the banners, I took two of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-pop-banner-delights/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Pop Banners</a>, and sprayed them with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Shine</a> and then layered them together and adhered them to the frame. I finished it off by adding the sentiment with some random letter stickers I had in my stash. It came together pretty quickly, I just had to do a little waiting to let things dry. <br />
Make sure you check out the<a href="http://www.flamingoscraps.com/" target="_blank"> Flamingo Scraps store</a> to pick up some of this great Heidi Swapp stuff before it is all gone!!<br />
Until next time!<br />

<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br />
Today is the birthday of the awesome lady who owns <a href="http://www.flamingoscraps.com/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps</a>! For this card, I used a yellow card base, and sprayed one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/fabscraps-manufacturers/" target="_blank">FabScraps chipboard shapes</a> with some white Mr. Huey's and let it dry, and then sprayed with the Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Bronzer. I cut some grass some random scrap paper trim that I had and sprayed it with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mustard and Tropicana Teal</a> to give it a little shine. I created the banner at the top out of scraps from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Serendipity</a> line, and inked the edges around the sentiment and the entire card front with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/chalk-fluid-edger-old-road/" target="_blank">Prima Ink in "Old Road.</a>" After piecing together the card, I decided to add the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-light-pink-roses/" target="_blank">Prima Light Pink flower</a> accents to give it more of a "garden bench" feel. </div>

I know, i know... it's been a while, but I am back again to share a layout using the fabulous new<br />
<br />
<a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp "Serendipity" line</a>. I thought this line would be the perfect thing to go with some of this year's Easter pictures. My son had FOUR egg hunts this year, so he was a champion hunter by the time Easter morning rolled around!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIfJ-9OYugY/UX6pZNLEUQI/AAAAAAAACrY/ZK9MucYSl2M/s1600/IMG_0121.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WIfJ-9OYugY/UX6pZNLEUQI/AAAAAAAACrY/ZK9MucYSl2M/s400/IMG_0121.JPG" width="398" /></a></div>
<br />
I love these <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Serendipity papers!</a> They are perfect for so many different looks. I chose the muted colors in the chevron pattern for the background for this layout, and then used my Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays in <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-mustar/" target="_blank">Mustard</a>, <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-primrose/" target="_blank">Primrose</a> and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-georgia-peach/" target="_blank">Georgia Peach</a> to make the ink drops in the top and bottom corners. I then cut the blue patterned paper and used my sewing machine to run a zigzag border down one side, attaching the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/websters-pages-trim-coral-chevron/" target="_blank">Webster's Pages Coral Chevron Trim by Alison Kreft</a>. I cut 1.5 inch strips of the yellow patterned paper and used an edge punch from my stash to give it a little more interest and layered my pictures on top of it all. I decided to add a small mat of another patterned paper from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Serendipity line</a> under the picture of me and my son to give it a little emphasis. I used some alpha stamps from my stash and one of the the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/chalk-fluid-edger-old-rosed/" target="_blank">Prima Chalk Inks in Old Rose</a> to create the Egg Hunt title on one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-file-tab-stickers/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp File tags</a> and the date to the bottom corner.<br />
Here's a quick look at the ink splatters and the different layers and textures that I was able to create with the different elements.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEXzo9X5DsQ/UX6pZawXd1I/AAAAAAAACro/CkXrdVAVcpQ/s1600/IMG_0124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OEXzo9X5DsQ/UX6pZawXd1I/AAAAAAAACro/CkXrdVAVcpQ/s320/IMG_0124.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Lastly, here is a close up of the great layered element that I pieced together and the layers on the page - lots of different textures at play here. The layered element is made up of some one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-pop-tag-set/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Pop tags</a>, which I colored the letters by spraying both<a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-primrose/" target="_blank"> Primrose</a> and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-georgia-peach/" target="_blank">Georgia Peach</a> color shine on simultaneously to achieve the color I wanted. I layered it on top of a piece of yellow Serendipity paper, some more of the coral trim, and added the blue frame (which was actually had been around the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-file-tab-stickers/" target="_blank">"Egg Hunt" file tag</a> on the backing sheet I pulled the tag from). The chevron pattern in this element is actually part of one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-serendipity-instaframes/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Instaframe</a>s that I cut up to just use the patterned portion that matched the background paper. To finish it off and give it a little more interest, I tucked a few of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-trinket-pins-vintage-pearl/" target="_blank">Maya Road Trinket Pins </a>in the top of the heart tag.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For some reason, Spring Break really threw me off from keeping up with Project Life, so I am really trying to get in gear and catch up. I wanted to share Week 10 with everyone. This was the week before Spring Break here, and it included a trip the the local trampoline place for Munchkin Mondays, the return of Sam's Grandparents from a trip out of town, picking strawberries and a hearing test for Sam. I used the Studio Calico "Dear Darling" 6x6 pad and some of the cards from my Studio Calico Project Life kit. <br />

Hi everyone!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alicia here with my latest Flamingo Four creation! This month, we were given Pink Paislee's "Parisian Anthology" Dimensions Corrugated Alpha, one package of Prima Raja Sequin Centers, one Maya Road Kraft Mini Calendar, and one Graphic 45 Metal Clothespin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cWWyRcpKjL4/UXnLnngp1DI/AAAAAAAACqw/ugJS3c4HQWk/s1600/IMG_0713.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="373" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cWWyRcpKjL4/UXnLnngp1DI/AAAAAAAACqw/ugJS3c4HQWk/s400/IMG_0713.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was really stumped on how to bring these items together (especially that clothes pin... man is that thing solid!) But, since the sequin centers were navy, they sort of reminded me of the hand-beaded flowers that my husband's Aunt Carol made for my wedding bouquet, so I thought I would put together a little frame with our last name, and one of the little calendars with our anniversary circled to help my husband remember the important date. I used some inks and colored the letters and arranged them on some cardstock to fit the frame. I then added the sequin centers as accents to the letters and nestled that calendar in. Because of the heft of the clothes pin, I just adhered it into the corner so the frame itself could help support it, with the sentiment "Remember" facing outward.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gTGIXKzDC0Q/UTPC_jD5_BI/AAAAAAAACoY/2mUb1ZD15eY/s1600/IMG_9633.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gTGIXKzDC0Q/UTPC_jD5_BI/AAAAAAAACoY/2mUb1ZD15eY/s400/IMG_9633.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
This is always such a fun project to do! Head over to the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps blog</a> to see what the rest of the talented ladies on the design team came up with these same supplies!</div>

When I saw these papers and all of the trains, I knew it would be perfect for these pictures of my son on the train at Hermann Park here in Houston. As you can probably tell by the look on his face in this picture, he LOVES the train, and has the cutest little "woo-woo" that he lets out when ever he sees one!<br />
All of the papers in this layout come from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/carta-bella-well-travelled-12x12-collection-kit/" target="_blank">"Well Traveled" collection pack</a>, which comes with both a sheet of accent stickers and one containing THREE alphas! The "Going on a TRIP" element is available in the set of really cool <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/carta-bella-well-travelled-chipboard-accents/" target="_blank">chipboard elements</a> that coordinate with this line.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PiyggVnYziw/UWWAkkGkOEI/AAAAAAAACqg/E2ZvIpvYSQY/s1600/IMG_0065.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PiyggVnYziw/UWWAkkGkOEI/AAAAAAAACqg/E2ZvIpvYSQY/s400/IMG_0065.JPG" width="396" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Up in the corner of the main picture, I sprinkled some of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/studio-calico-wood-veneers-tiny-stars/" target="_blank">Studio Calico "Tiny Stars" wood veneers</a> that I used some of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Shine</a> (Black Velvet) and an inkpad (the maroon stars) to coordinate with the rest of the layout.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mqeijwvYgfA/UWWAfMfj8YI/AAAAAAAACqU/fmCIdp1n6vk/s1600/IMG_0072.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mqeijwvYgfA/UWWAfMfj8YI/AAAAAAAACqU/fmCIdp1n6vk/s400/IMG_0072.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I just loved this "We are going by:" element on the sticker sheet and thought it would be perfect here. I add some interest in this bottom corner, I used some more of the washi and created two layers of pennants and then added one made out of one of the scraps left over from the layering in the center of the layout and added one of the Studio Calico words from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/studio-calico-wood-veneers-just-my-type/" target="_blank">"Just My Type" wood veneers</a> and another one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/studio-calico-wood-veneers-tiny-stars/" target="_blank">Studio Calico stars.</a><br />
<br />

Hello Flockinistas!<br />
Alicia here, back again, this time with a couple of easy cards that I have created for the spring from the great supplies you can get at Flamingo Scraps!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vJWdWA8Rl4k/UU3THPuRYwI/AAAAAAAACpE/6kx3r8q0CPo/s1600/IMG_9676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vJWdWA8Rl4k/UU3THPuRYwI/AAAAAAAACpE/6kx3r8q0CPo/s400/IMG_9676.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
First up, I decided to use the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-gingham-fabric-tape-ocean-blue/" target="_blank">Maya Road Fabric Tape</a> to weave an egg pattern on a card made out of cardstock. I just drew the egg shape on the card and then cut vertical strips within the borders of the egg. I then cut strips of the fabric tape, and weaved them in and out of the strips to create this woven effect. I decided to try my hand at the hand stitching that is showing up here and there these days and went around the outside of the woven egg with some green twine. Finally, I created a little sentiment banner with some cardstock, rub-ons, and then stamped the polka dots with one of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-washi-tape-rubber-stamp-1/" target="_blank">Prima Washi Tape stamps</a> and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/chalk-fluid-edger-old-rosed/" target="_blank">Prima Chalk ink in Old Rose.</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F66JAETz6GQ/UU3THB-NofI/AAAAAAAACpA/t8uoiNpQLGk/s1600/IMG_9674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F66JAETz6GQ/UU3THB-NofI/AAAAAAAACpA/t8uoiNpQLGk/s400/IMG_9674.JPG" width="295" /></a></div>
Next up, I decided that I really wanted to use these <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/fabscraps-chipboard-hand-windmills/" target="_blank">FabScraps Pinwheels</a> to create an adorable card for spring. First, I used some Diamond Glaze and outlined the sections that I wanted for the pink glitter and sprinkled on the glitter. I let it dry, then came back and repeated with the green glitter. While that way drying, I got to work on the background of the card. I used a watermark pen and some white embossing powder to create the cloud shapes and then ran it under my heat gun. I then took some of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Shine</a> spray in Mustard and masked off the top part of the card and sprayed where I wanted the "grass" to go. Then, I followed up by spraying Tropicana Teal all over the front of the card, rubbing over the overlapping portion to make a more green look, and wiping the "clouds" to make sure they stayed white. Before adhering the pinwheels, I did a little more of the hand-stitching to create the stems of the pinwheels. The sentiment was created with some scraps and the "hello" stamp from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-snapshot-words-stamp-set/" target="_blank">Maya Road Snapshot Words set</a> (this is SUCH a great set!!) stamped with another of the Prima Chalk inks, and some random letter stamps that I embossed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f4tuNCvM0H8/UU3THM7HdxI/AAAAAAAACpI/3QNrR2d68dQ/s1600/IMG_9671.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f4tuNCvM0H8/UU3THM7HdxI/AAAAAAAACpI/3QNrR2d68dQ/s400/IMG_9671.JPG" width="282" /></a></div>
I am really please how these cheery spring cards turned out and I just can't wait to send them out! I love this time of year, and have really been enjoying the wonderful weather that we are having right now (just don't remind me about how hot it's going to be in Houston rather soon!)<br />
<br />
Until next time!!<br />

Hello All!<br />
I am back to show you a little layout that came about from me simply playing around with new supplies. Usually, I am one of those scrappers that start with a picture and create a layout, but this time, I started with the idea to create the ombre effect that is a very popular trend at the moment, using the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Mists</a> on the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-fabric-tape-solids-eggshell/" target="_blank">Eggshell Maya Road Fabric Tape</a> that is available in the Flamingo Scraps store. Once I got the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-fabric-tape-solids-eggshell/" target="_blank">tape</a> finished and dried, I then had to dig around to find a picture that would work with the idea I had.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JS-T_BBvKuw/UTUgFTx0x2I/AAAAAAAACos/ptUuD9f1528/s1600/IMG_9651.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JS-T_BBvKuw/UTUgFTx0x2I/AAAAAAAACos/ptUuD9f1528/s400/IMG_9651.JPG" width="393" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Since I was already playing with the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/heidi-swapp/" target="_blank">Color Mists</a>, I decided to mist and use an <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/mr-hueys-medium-dropper/" target="_blank">ink dropper</a> to create a bit of interest towards the top right corner. Also I thought that most of the elements that I was going to use as embellishments should also reflect the ombre coloring, including the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-wood-icons-in-a-box-cameras/" target="_blank">Prima Camera wood</a>, the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapppink-paislee-kit/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Mistable tags</a>, the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/studio-calico/" target="_blank">Studio Calico veneer</a> and the Pink Paislee stars. To finish up and fill in some areas that I thought still needed something, I found some coordinating <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-classic-orange-roses/" target="_blank">Prima flowers</a> and stamped one of the new <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-washi-tape-rubber-stamp-2/" target="_blank">Prima Washi Tape stamps</a> a couple of times, and added the word "date" from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-instant-photo-frame-singleton-stamp/" target="_blank">Maya Road Instant Photo Frame</a> singleton stamp.<br />
<br />
Here is another angle to show the great shine that these sprays really add to the layout and how much fun a little dimension also adds!<br />

I am back today with my Week Eight for Project Life! As of this entry, I am for all intents and purposed, UP TO DATE!! :) Also, I am participating in <a href="http://michellebostinelos.com/blog/2013/03/3-2-13-saturday-project-life-blog-hop">Michelle Bostinelos' Saturday blog hop </a>, so for everyone who this is their first time to my blog, welcome and have a look around! I would love to hear feed back on the stuff I have here! <br />
<br />
This week contains a two page spread with a small insert of a couple of additional pictures from our date night out at the Rodeo Cook-Off with friends. I found myself with less pictures than normal, but was still able to get together some that I truly loved!<br />
<br />
Here is the whole spread, not showing the insert:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KDhmUHNXM30/UTDhSp25_II/AAAAAAAACn8/7jHNQo1WnSs/s1600/IMG_9626.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KDhmUHNXM30/UTDhSp25_II/AAAAAAAACn8/7jHNQo1WnSs/s640/IMG_9626.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the washi to tie the journaling card to the photo of my goofy husband with his camo hat full of USB thumb drives, and used one of the Ali Edwards stamps from Technique Tuesday, directly on the photo. The calendar on my date card is stamped from the Amy Tangerine date stamp. Love that thing!! A close up of our "art" on the back patio and an overview of the whole mess add additional color.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Kt3X0oXWqs/UTDhSBimmHI/AAAAAAAACnw/RDfCTiVggcE/s1600/IMG_9619.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Kt3X0oXWqs/UTDhSBimmHI/AAAAAAAACnw/RDfCTiVggcE/s640/IMG_9619.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The top image is a picture of the poster that was hanging at Sam's school, thanking our class for putting together the Teacher's Luncheon that I helped coordinate. I just had to include the picture of Sam as a pirate... It is actually a screen shot from the computer. Eddie was on a Google Conference with his boss, and let Sam sit in his lap. He turned on the "Special Effects" and created our weird little pirate. I needed a filler card, and saw this Red Wine "poem" on Pinterest and just thought it was too funny! Pictures of Sam opening the blinds in the morning, a late arriving birthday card and friends at the cook-off, round out the pictures this week. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a close up of the small insert (this is one from the Sn@p line). Just a easy title card, and then pictures of me and Eddie and then of Eddie and his old roommate Andy.</div>

I managed to get those finishing touches on to Week Five, it photographed and posted today (like I planned!!!) :) <br />
<br />
This week was another week when Eddie was out of town, so it was me and Sam flying on our own. We were having beautiful weather (you really cannot beat this time of year around here!) so there was lots of outdoors-time to enjoy! <br />
<br />
It was a week where Sam found Grandpa's glasses and had to try them on, we went and checked on the boat to make sure things will be ready when we need it, new classroom tours for next year, and sneaking extra treats to the dogs when Mama leaves the room. Always and adventure around here! :-)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BomGMc3ESqM/US6Zwt7XHvI/AAAAAAAACm8/xiA7A2MabgI/s1600/IMG_9609.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BomGMc3ESqM/US6Zwt7XHvI/AAAAAAAACm8/xiA7A2MabgI/s640/IMG_9609.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A close up of the left side - the kraft and white filler card was one I made with a background stamps and white Zing... Man, I love that stuff!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2jVtSyE2fRg/US6ZwlvHOyI/AAAAAAAACnE/mePALSDFKBU/s1600/IMG_9611.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2jVtSyE2fRg/US6ZwlvHOyI/AAAAAAAACnE/mePALSDFKBU/s640/IMG_9611.JPG" width="610" /></a></div>
<br />
And a close of the right:<br />

(I think I now just owe Week Five and then will be back in order!) :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GT9ZtuFQsIM/US06Z7xMTzI/AAAAAAAACmQ/ZhtSUV4nFYo/s1600/IMG_9606.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="324" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GT9ZtuFQsIM/US06Z7xMTzI/AAAAAAAACmQ/ZhtSUV4nFYo/s640/IMG_9606.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This was a week where there were just a lot of everyday things that we did, trips to IKEA and Garden Ridge, one of the Mardi Gras parades on the Seawall in Galveston, and a new rug that I got for the front room (to cover the blackboard paint that Sam got a hold of and got on the carpet). I used the new Amy Tangerine calendar stamp to create the calendar on my date card. It takes a little time to get it arranged, but I really think I am going to like being able to create calendars to coordinate with the weeks (instead of just white every time). <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0gmTLDilOTM/US06ZzLVDKI/AAAAAAAACmU/KFp2A_IOA2I/s1600/IMG_9607.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0gmTLDilOTM/US06ZzLVDKI/AAAAAAAACmU/KFp2A_IOA2I/s640/IMG_9607.JPG" width="628" /></a></div>
When creating this spread, I decided to utilize the white space of the table Sam was sitting at to write the journaling directly on to the picture. One of my favorite pictures from this week is that second little picture. We got Chili's To-Go, and Sam has taken to "reading" the menu in the car. The "Photos by Sam" picture is a collage that I created in Picasa of various pictures that Sam had taken with the camera on my phone. He is really into taking pictures... I don't know where he could get that from. ;)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8iK7qar-J5k/US06Z9zLxOI/AAAAAAAACmg/fxD0EH9a9sI/s1600/IMG_9608.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8iK7qar-J5k/US06Z9zLxOI/AAAAAAAACmg/fxD0EH9a9sI/s640/IMG_9608.JPG" width="614" /></a></div>
Eddie came home from trial on Friday (he had been gone two weeks) and Sam was a HAPPY little boy to have his daddy back. <br />
Hope everyone is having a great week! I should have week five posted soon, hopefully tomorrow!<br />
Until next time!<br />

Hi All!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this month's Flamingo Four, we were given 2 sheets of Heidi Swapp's Vintage Chic paper, "Bookkeeping" and "Just Dots," 1 package of Webster's Pages Push Pins, 1 domino., and 1 set of Glitz "Vintage Blue" stamps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-viZJ9sKoqc0/UR7_7dW1uMI/AAAAAAAAClQ/Co_JvKVvK_g/s1600/IMG_0708.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="580" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-viZJ9sKoqc0/UR7_7dW1uMI/AAAAAAAAClQ/Co_JvKVvK_g/s640/IMG_0708.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I decided that with this month's supplies, I would pair them up with a sheet of navy cardstock to create a layout of my son in the backyard with his Fireman boots on. I used the heart stamp that was in the set and stamped all over the green side of the "Bookkeeping" paper with Versamark, then sprinkled Gold Glitter embossing powder all over and then used my heat gun to set it. I also used my heat gun and embossing powders to create the "2" on the domino. For a little contrast, I stamped the heart image in Navy ink and cut around it to create the heart element. Add a few alpha stamps and some thickers and I have a cute layout of my boy! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

Here is a closer look at the gold embossing powder on the background. </div>

This is such a fun project to be a part of! Head on over to the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/">blog</a> to see what everyone else came up with!</div>

Hi everyone! <br />
Week seven is also my project for my design team, so that's why I am slightly out of order. I thought Pink Paislee's Secret Crush line would be PERFECT to use for the week of Valentine's Day in my Project Life album! In addition to Valentine's Day, we also attended a wedding, so the week was full of love!<br />
Here is the full, two-page layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j-gdwqvPUUs/USRP46rx3XI/AAAAAAAACl0/tmzcon4BhqA/s1600/IMG_9462.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j-gdwqvPUUs/USRP46rx3XI/AAAAAAAACl0/tmzcon4BhqA/s400/IMG_9462.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Close-up of the left side:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QIJeSBfF1iA/USRP4VXdDfI/AAAAAAAACls/wBLNoBbU7u8/s1600/IMG_9460.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QIJeSBfF1iA/USRP4VXdDfI/AAAAAAAACls/wBLNoBbU7u8/s320/IMG_9460.JPG" width="308" /></a></div>
Close-Up of the right side:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-845v8KXZm0k/USRP4u0Sm5I/AAAAAAAAClw/chrqIoNXb-s/s1600/IMG_9461.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-845v8KXZm0k/USRP4u0Sm5I/AAAAAAAAClw/chrqIoNXb-s/s320/IMG_9461.JPG" width="315" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I used the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-kit-a/" target="_blank">Pink Paislee Collection pack and the Paper Goods</a> for most of the accents for this week. I also used a couple of the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/studio-calico/" target="_blank">Studio Calico wood veneers</a>, and colored the veneer on the calendar with some <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-sweet-cherry/" target="_blank">Color Shine by Heidi Swapp</a> that gives it the perfect amount of shimmer. A last minute detail that I just love is the little <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-metal-trinket-clips-little-birdie/" target="_blank">Maya Road Trinket Birdie Clip</a> on the date card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Flamingo Scraps is having a<a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-kit-a/" target="_blank"> great sale</a> on the remaining Secret Crush items, so if you love it as much as I have, you'd better get it quick before it's gone!! </div>

Hey Everyone! I am back with another one of the layouts I did for my Design Team at <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/">Flamingo Scraps</a>!<br />
This time of year, I always find myself with a large amount of "themed" supplies. I use to think was a problem, until I realized that just because they are part of a "Christmas" or "Valentine's" line, doesn't mean they only have to be used for those holidays. Using supplies that you can get from Suzanne in the <a href="http://www.flamingoscraps.com/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps store </a>(<b>NOW New and Improved!</b>), I combined the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Pink Paislee "Secret Crush" </a>and the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/teresa-collins-now-then-12x12-collection-pack/" target="_blank">Teresa Collins "Now and Then"</a> lines to create a very un-Valentine's Day layout of my husband and I out for my birthday this year. I took this picture myself standing in front of these giant firebowls near the restaurant we had dinner at this night.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gMpMsWtKELs/UQ507QdlTtI/AAAAAAAACjc/EkdIpytIQBo/s1600/IMG_9324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gMpMsWtKELs/UQ507QdlTtI/AAAAAAAACjc/EkdIpytIQBo/s400/IMG_9324.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The background paper, the damask, the doily print and the pennant flags below the pictures were all taken from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-12x12-paper-pack/" target="_blank">Secret Crush line</a>, while the clocks and blue patterned paper came from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/teresa-collins-now-then-12x12-collection-pack/" target="_blank">Now and Then</a>. The "This Moment" sentiment was cut out from one of the papers in the Now and Then collection, and with the blue and gray color scheme, these supplies no longer look like they only belong on a Valentine's layout!</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zQpHIG1l0SQ/UQ507fgcaRI/AAAAAAAACjU/a1aWgYJ3jwc/s1600/IMG_9328.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zQpHIG1l0SQ/UQ507fgcaRI/AAAAAAAACjU/a1aWgYJ3jwc/s400/IMG_9328.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For a little texture and to add a little interest, I have layered a doily on top of one of the Fancy Pants Filter Paper embellishments, which I just inked with a couple of my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/" target="_blank">Prima Chalk Edgers</a> to coordinate with the rest of the color palate of my layout. I used my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to add that tab from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-photo-tabs/" target="_blank">Secret Crush Photo tabs</a> directly to my photo.</div>

In addition to the digital brush that I applied to my photo before printing, I used a couple of the stick pins, mini-clothes pins (aren't they adorable!) and some of the Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon as accents on this layout. <br />

This little "journaling block" is the bottom half of the library card tag which is included on the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/teresa-collins-now-then-12x12-collection-pack/" target="_blank">"Now and Then"</a> elements sheet that comes with the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/teresa-collins-now-then-12x12-collection-pack/" target="_blank">collection pack</a>. The little pennants I cut from some of the larger elements from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/pink-paislee-secret-crush-paper-goods-diecuts/" target="_blank">Secret Crush Paper Goods diecut pack</a>!<br />
<br />
So, I hope this has helped everyone get a lot more use out of those "themed" supplies that can be used year round! Leave a comment and let me know how you have repurposed some of your "themed" products!<br />
<br />
Until next time!<br />

So far, I seem to be running about a week behind, and I am fine with that! :) This week was just me and Sam, so we tried our best to stay busy! :) I just have a two-page layout for this week (no inserts) because the only things that we did that I took several pictures for was the zoo and the park (which we do all of the time!) :)</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LcdkBrjihbE/UQ_I8skRhNI/AAAAAAAACkA/FAp0ZLBtlZ8/s1600/IMG_9343+crop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="330" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LcdkBrjihbE/UQ_I8skRhNI/AAAAAAAACkA/FAp0ZLBtlZ8/s640/IMG_9343+crop.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

Both sides of the layout. I have changed my approach this year to make each week look a little more cohesive that I have in years past. Project Life has become my main type of memory keeping for my family, so want it to look like I took some time with it. :) I still do traditional layouts a couple of times a month, but with a very busy 2 year old, I just don't have the time that I use to have. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="font-size: 13.333333969116211px;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Left side with a picture of the Moon and Jupiter, some pictures of Sam from the park and zoo, us on the train at the zoo, and a great picture from a new weather app I have called Instaweather. I can see that it is going to make an appearance in this year's PL quite a bit. If you don't have this app, it's really great because you take a picture with your phone and it layers the weather on top of it. There are a lot of different options of what the weather "report" can look like on top of your picture.<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><br /><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p_z96at3Wzw/UQ_I9ekRN1I/AAAAAAAACkM/uQeyyE-x2wc/s400/IMG_9346+crop.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="391" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Right side of the spread </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p_z96at3Wzw/UQ_I9ekRN1I/AAAAAAAACkM/uQeyyE-x2wc/s1600/IMG_9346+crop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"></a><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p_z96at3Wzw/UQ_I9ekRN1I/AAAAAAAACkM/uQeyyE-x2wc/s1600/IMG_9346+crop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"></a></div>
Here is the right side of the spread. I finished my Defensive Driving class online, so that was a big accomplishment for the week. Sam decided to take a straw with him into the tub to blow bubbles and I finally caught his "Moo" on camera. I LOVE the way his little lips pucker up when he does it. :) <br />
<br />
I am also trying to do the "Currently" cards a couple of times a month. For me, doing it weekly is just not feasible... honestly, I just don't want to have to make room for it in my PL that often. <br />
<br />
Off to get ready for the rest of my day! I am heading to the school and then we may head to a park, or IKEA depending on the weather! <br />
I hope you guys enjoy your day!<br />
<br />
Until next time!<br />
