Egg Hunt
Hey guys! I know, i know... it's been a while, but I am back again to share a layout using the fabulous new
Heidi Swapp "Serendipity" line. I thought this line would be the perfect thing to go with some of this year's Easter pictures. My son had FOUR egg hunts this year, so he was a champion hunter by the time Easter morning rolled around!
I love these Serendipity papers! They are perfect for so many different looks. I chose the muted colors in the chevron pattern for the background for this layout, and then used my Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays in Mustard, Primrose and Georgia Peach to make the ink drops in the top and bottom corners. I then cut the blue patterned paper and used my sewing machine to run a zigzag border down one side, attaching the Webster's Pages Coral Chevron Trim by Alison Kreft. I cut 1.5 inch strips of the yellow patterned paper and used an edge punch from my stash to give it a little more interest and layered my pictures on top of it all. I decided to add a small mat of another patterned paper from the Serendipity line under the picture of me and my son to give it a little emphasis. I used some alpha stamps from my stash and one of the the Prima Chalk Inks in Old Rose to create the Egg Hunt title on one of the Heidi Swapp File tags and the date to the bottom corner.
Here's a quick look at the ink splatters and the different layers and textures that I was able to create with the different elements.
Lastly, here is a close up of the great layered element that I pieced together and the layers on the page - lots of different textures at play here. The layered element is made up of some one of the Heidi Swapp Color Pop tags, which I colored the letters by spraying both Primrose and Georgia Peach color shine on simultaneously to achieve the color I wanted. I layered it on top of a piece of yellow Serendipity paper, some more of the coral trim, and added the blue frame (which was actually had been around the "Egg Hunt" file tag on the backing sheet I pulled the tag from). The chevron pattern in this element is actually part of one of the Heidi Swapp Instaframes that I cut up to just use the patterned portion that matched the background paper. To finish it off and give it a little more interest, I tucked a few of the Maya Road Trinket Pins in the top of the heart tag.

Project Life - Week 10
Hi All!
For some reason, Spring Break really threw me off from keeping up with Project Life, so I am really trying to get in gear and catch up. I wanted to share Week 10 with everyone. This was the week before Spring Break here, and it included a trip the the local trampoline place for Munchkin Mondays, the return of Sam's Grandparents from a trip out of town, picking strawberries and a hearing test for Sam. I used the Studio Calico "Dear Darling" 6x6 pad and some of the cards from my Studio Calico Project Life kit.

April Flamingo Four
Hi everyone!
Alicia here with my latest Flamingo Four creation! This month, we were given Pink Paislee's "Parisian Anthology" Dimensions Corrugated Alpha, one package of Prima Raja Sequin Centers, one Maya Road Kraft Mini Calendar, and one Graphic 45 Metal Clothespin.
I was really stumped on how to bring these items together (especially that clothes pin... man is that thing solid!) But, since the sequin centers were navy, they sort of reminded me of the hand-beaded flowers that my husband's Aunt Carol made for my wedding bouquet, so I thought I would put together a little frame with our last name, and one of the little calendars with our anniversary circled to help my husband remember the important date. I used some inks and colored the letters and arranged them on some cardstock to fit the frame. I then added the sequin centers as accents to the letters and nestled that calendar in. Because of the heft of the clothes pin, I just adhered it into the corner so the frame itself could help support it, with the sentiment "Remember" facing outward.
This is always such a fun project to do! Head over to the Flamingo Scraps blog to see what the rest of the talented ladies on the design team came up with these same supplies!

Well Traveled on the Train
I am back with a layout using Carta Bella's Well Traveled line! When I saw these papers and all of the trains, I knew it would be perfect for these pictures of my son on the train at Hermann Park here in Houston. As you can probably tell by the look on his face in this picture, he LOVES the train, and has the cutest little "woo-woo" that he lets out when ever he sees one!
All of the papers in this layout come from the "Well Traveled" collection pack, which comes with both a sheet of accent stickers and one containing THREE alphas! The "Going on a TRIP" element is available in the set of really cool chipboard elements that coordinate with this line.
Up in the corner of the main picture, I sprinkled some of the Studio Calico "Tiny Stars" wood veneers that I used some of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Black Velvet) and an inkpad (the maroon stars) to coordinate with the rest of the layout.
I just loved this "We are going by:" element on the sticker sheet and thought it would be perfect here. I add some interest in this bottom corner, I used some more of the washi and created two layers of pennants and then added one made out of one of the scraps left over from the layering in the center of the layout and added one of the Studio Calico words from the "Just My Type" wood veneers and another one of the Studio Calico stars.
The striped and train print washi tapes are also part of this collection, and it looks like they are currently sold out in the store, but can be special ordered for you by Suzanne! Just drop her an email at: flamingoscraps@yahoo.com if you are interested!
Head on over to Flamingo Scraps and grab up some of this awesome collection before it's gone!
Until next time!

Hello Spring
Hello Flockinistas!
Alicia here, back again, this time with a couple of easy cards that I have created for the spring from the great supplies you can get at Flamingo Scraps!
First up, I decided to use the Maya Road Fabric Tape to weave an egg pattern on a card made out of cardstock. I just drew the egg shape on the card and then cut vertical strips within the borders of the egg. I then cut strips of the fabric tape, and weaved them in and out of the strips to create this woven effect. I decided to try my hand at the hand stitching that is showing up here and there these days and went around the outside of the woven egg with some green twine. Finally, I created a little sentiment banner with some cardstock, rub-ons, and then stamped the polka dots with one of the Prima Washi Tape stamps and Prima Chalk ink in Old Rose.
I am really please how these cheery spring cards turned out and I just can't wait to send them out! I love this time of year, and have really been enjoying the wonderful weather that we are having right now (just don't remind me about how hot it's going to be in Houston rather soon!)
Until next time!!
Alicia
